Ok, I’ve been terrible about posting and writing lately and I promised myself that this weekend I would put together a schedule and blog my little heart out, so here I sit…writing. So much has been going on and I’ve had a pretty busy February, but loved every minute of it and am going to share all the excitement below. Let me also say that I’m still waiting on the photographer from my January wedding and that is why the blog is taking forever, rest assured it’s ready to go, just waiting for those pics and I’ll be back in business.
In the month or so since my last post, I have, celebrated another year around the sun, now have a soon to be sister (my brother proposed to his girlfriend and they asked me to be their planner, as if they had a choice hahahah!), dinner with the parents of my December bride, welcomed a friend’s baby into the world (my little sweet P), attended my first Tuesday’s Together through The Rising Tide Society (separate blog on this coming soon, I know you’re on the edge of your seat!), had a very talented friend launch her awesome Etsy shop (Let’s Taco’bout Art), and my fiancé was in town helping with planning of our own big day, so to say I have been a busy bee is an understatement, but I loved every second of it!
Along with all the craziness, I have had so much on my brain about the company, all the things I want to do to make it better, and of course just putting myself out there and gaining more clients! I mean let’s be honest here people, I know you need a coordinator, but how can I convince you that you need one? I had dinner with the parents of my December bride, Lauren, and it was so nice to meet up with them and get some great feedback. I almost cried when Chris (the dad) said to me that I was the best money they spent on the wedding, if that’s not affirmation, I’m not sure what is. He said the way his daughter and wife could just sit back and actually relax and really take in the day was worth it. That right there, is why I am so passionate about doing this, allowing people to be a guest at their own wedding, I can’t wait to meet up with Sarah (my January bride) to get feedback from her.
As I’m doing these events, my mind is always racing, making notes, wishing I would have done this instead of that, but I figured if I’m not taking something away from each event and learning every single time, then what’s the point? I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t know everything about this industry, but I’m sure going to make you feel like I do and figure it out along the way, because, after all, isn’t that what life is about, being in the moment and figuring it as we go? So, with that being said, I’m off to do some serious work! Check back in soon for the blog on Sarah and Shane’s wedding, my first Tuesday’s Together experience, and lots of fun helpful hints to get you started on planning your big day!
