So, this was supposed to be posted on February 1st, however, I was having some technical issues, it is without further ado...
What better way to start the month of love, then with a new blog about a beautiful couple! I saw it fitting to start February off with Jaime & Mike’s wedding day since they celebrated their 6 month anniversary this week.
I met Jaime through her sister and friends a few years ago. We had gone to dinners, gatherings, and brunches together, but never really knew each other, aside from the friendly hi, how are you! Jaime reached out to me through Instagram when I posted some photos of my calligraphy, she inquired about having me do some work on small chalk boards for mason jars that were to be displayed as place cards for her wedding. So, naturally, when talking to her, I of course wanted wedding details, Jaime entertained me with her vision and then the words “we can’t get in until the morning of to set everything up, so I’m just going to do it myself.” You should have seen the look on my face, a bride setting up the day of her wedding, when she’s supposed to be getting pampered, hanging with her friends, and being in the moment, it was time to talk some sense into this bride!
I’m so glad Jaime (and Mike for that matter) were easily persuaded (and gave into my pushiness, but, come on, I was not going to let her set this all up on her own), because what took place on that warm, sun filled July day in Benton Harbor was nothing short of magic!
I met up Jaime and her bridesmaids at this adorable Airbnb in downtown Benton Harbor, where they were all getting pretty and doing bridesmaids thing. I grabbed a few more boxes (that wouldn’t fit in my car from the previous décor transfer) and was off to Sundance Studios where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were being held!
Jaime and Mike chose to do a First Look on location at Sundance Studios and it was everything you dream a first look to be! The smiles and laughter were so contagious and set the mood leading into their ceremony. Bryan Newfield outdid himself capturing all the magic moments of the entire day!
Sundance Studios speaks for itself, but Jaime’s vision for this space, was spot on! The perfect amount of floral and pretty incorporated with the perfect amount of vintage and rustic. The reception area (dining only - dancing and the bar were located on the other side of the building) layout was unique with three different styles of tables, long farmhouse tables, round tables, and square tables, paired with vintage gold chivari chairs set under a very intricate chandelier completely set the tone for this space. The Day’s Design helped transform the room with her floral creations, and Celery City Trading Company added their touch with mismatched china and dinnerware. Drinks were flowing, and dinner was served, only to be followed by one of the prettiest dessert tables I have laid my eyes on! (Desserts by Trifles).
After the guests indulged, the dance floor opened up and the party did not stop! The new Mr. & Mrs. Frayne were the life of the party, like any bride and groom should be, you could feel the love between not only them, but every person that was there to celebrate! Jaime and Mike! Your love story is as beautiful as the two of you (did I forget to mention that Jaime had a crush on Mike when she was 15 years old when they worked at a Golf Course together, ya’ll, she literally married her High School crush!)! May your smiles and laughter continue to grow old with you throughout your married life and may the love that you have for each other today be more than that on your wedding day and even more tomorrow! Thank you for letting me be a part of the most memorable day of your life, I’m so grateful I was a part of it, to witness an amazing love, and gain a beautiful friend! I love when clients become friends, and I get to not only be a part of their wedding day, but a part of their married life! Cheers!
